Makgethwa has been a generalist Human Capital professional for over 17 years. She has extensive experience in a number of industries, including telecommunications, information technology, finance and scientific research. She has spent the past 15 years working for various blue chip companies and development agencies, including the Southern Africa Enterprises Development Fund, Business Connexion SA, Sanlam, and Telkom SA.
During her collegiate career, Makgethwa earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Fort Hare University, an Honors degree in Business Administration from the University of South Africa and Senior Management Certificate from the University of Pretoria. She is currently working towards a Master of Science degree in Global Human Resources Management with the University of Liverpool. Makgethwa is a member of the Human Resources Council of South Africa, Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology of South Africa, and the Psychological Society of South Africa.
