Cambridge Who's Who Names Brian Fredrick Professional of the Year in Manufacturing Engineering

Brian Fredrick specializes in process improvement and automation

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, January 04, 2011 /Engineering PR News/ -- Brian Fredrick, Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Medtronic, Inc., has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Manufacturing Engineering. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.

With 17 years of professional experience, Brian Fredrick specializes in process improvement and automation. In 2008, he assumed his current position at Medtronic, a developer and manufacturer of medical devices. As senior manufacturing engineer, he is responsible primarily for coordinating with other engineers regarding production and process improvement. A relative newcomer to the industry, Mr. Fredrick became involved in his profession after being implanted with a stent, which piqued his interest in medical devices. He attributes his success to his positivism and work ethic.

In addition to his work for Medtronic, Mr. Fredrick volunteers in a one-on-one teaching program at a local school, where he helps third- and fourth-graders with mathematics and reading. He received his Master's Degree in Business Studies in 2001 from the University of St. Thomas and his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 from the University of Wisconsin. In 2007, Mr. Fredrick was honored with The Heart Award by Guidant Corporation, a subsidiary of Boston Scientific. He aspires to rise to a managerial position in the medical device industry within the next five years.
