Gary Colgren Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Aerospace engineer Gary Colgren is distinguished for his work on Uninhabited Air Vehicle projects and Remotely Piloted Vehicles
SEATTLE, WA, April 6, 2010 /Engineering PR News/ -- Gary Colgren, CEO of Viking Aerospace, LLC, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Aviation Technology. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, and leadership abilities.
With more than 39 years of experience in engineering, Gary Colgren is uniquely positioned to oversee executive operations for Viking Aerospace, LLC, one of the nation's leading manufacturers of fixed-wing and helicopter uninhabited aerial vehicles (UAV) and systems (UAS). Specialized in instrumentation and electromagnetic interference systems (EMI), Mr. Colgren is charged with overseeing quality control, as well as the construction and execution of testing equipment.
A veteran of the United States Army, Mr. Colgren has provided consulting services for the military. He has contributed extensively to the Minuteman and MX missile programs, as well as the IUS satellite upper stage system. He has contributed to or led efforts to develop and implement multiple ground based and airborne aerospace systems for use by the U.S. military. Currently, Mr. Colgren is responsible for Viking's long range business plan and focus.
During an interview with a representative from Cambridge Publishing, Mr. Colgren credited his career choice to the inspiration he received from his brother Arthur Lew Colgren, who was a revered electrical engineer with McDonald Douglas. He considers hard work to be the driving force behind his success, and is recognized amongst his peers for his honesty and kind-hearted nature.
Mr. Colgren holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Washington State University and a professional engineer's license from the state of Washington. Looking to the future, he intends to contribute to the growth of Viking Aerospace and assist his daughter with her veterinary clinic and 120-acre cherry farm.
