William Paul McKinney Distinguished for Contributions to the Field of Construction Management
William Paul McKinney is a leading authority in the dynamic field of ecological architecture
HOUSTON, TX, March 19, 2010 /Engineering PR News/ -- William Paul McKinney, Architect and Senior Project Manager Engineering Campus Services at the University of Houston, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in construction management.
Fascinated by the influence of architecture on modern society, William Paul McKinney's interest in architectural design dates back to his years in high school. Nearly forty years later he lends his expertise in ecological architecture to the University of Houston where he oversees project management for six campuses in the school system. In addition to handling renovations and remodeling, Mr. McKinney supervises new construction and campus upgrades. He played an instrumental role in the completion of the University of Houston Center for Students with Disabilities—an experience of which he is especially proud. Aside from his hard work, he credits his success to his commitment to excellence.
Mr. McKinney holds a master of science in sustainable systems and ecological architecture from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, earned in 1996 and a bachelor of arts in architecture and fine arts from the University of Pennsylvania, earned in 1972. He earned a certification in AutoCAD and Microstation from Houston Community College in 1998. Mr. McKinney currently services as the vice president of the University of Houston Black Leadership Network and is professionally affiliated with the Texas Society of Architects, the American Institute of Architects, the National Organization of Minority Architects and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. Looking to the future, he intends to pursue an associate professorship in applied sustainable design and technology with UHS. He would also like to make changes to the New York City skyline with an emphasis on re-econometric forecasting equilibrium.
