Dr. James Maxwell Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Chemical Engineering

Dr. James Maxwell, Post Retirement, Has Found a Second Career as an Actor

WELWYN GARDEN CITY, UK, March 10, 2010 /Engineering PR News/ --Dr. James Maxwell, who retired as a Physical Chemist and Plastics Engineer from Imperial Chemical Industries, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in chemical engineering.

A 48-year veteran of his profession, Dr. James Maxwell is considered an expert in physical chemistry and plastic engineering. He enjoyed a long and fruitful career at Imperial Chemical Industries, a chemical manufacturing company to which he devoted 37 years. During his time at I.C.I., Dr. Maxwell functioned as a plastics specialist in polymer science, playing an integral role in the research and development of the process of glass-reinforced nylon. He left the company in 1990, and continued his involvement by contributing articles to journals and lecturing on the formulation and processing of thermoplastic composite materials until he retired from the industry in 2001.

Dr. Maxwell received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 1952 from the University of Liverpool. He is affiliated with the British Plastics Federation. Now in retirement, he has heeded a second calling as an actor; together with his wife, he performs regularly with the Barn Theatre Club and, on a more sporadic basis, with Random Edition, a BBC Radio series that delves into stories found in archive newspapers.
