Laura Dominik Honored for Accomplishments in Engineering
Laura Dominik serves as the chairperson for the Aerospace Vehicle Systems Institute (AVSI)
Task Group: Mitigating Radiation Effects on Current & Future Avionics Systems
WHITE BEAR LAKE, MN, October 19, 2010 /Engineering PR News/ -- Laura Dominik, Principal Systems Engineer for Honeywell International Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in radiation effects engineering.
Ms. Dominik has written industry papers dealing with the effects of atmospheric radiation and presented at various international conferences, and has received a Honeywell Technical Achievement Award for her work with atmospheric radiation effects and testing. She is the chairperson for the AVSI task group for mitigating radiation effects, and is listed as a U.S. expert to IEC Technical Committee 107.
In addition to radiation effects engineering, her career includes engineering positions in the development of weapon systems, medical devices, and multi-service communications networks. Ms. Dominik joined the Aerospace division of Honeywell in 2002, working with commercial avionics. She has collaborated across the avionics industry and government agencies to advance the understanding, design standards, and test capabilities related to the atmospheric radiation environment and resulting single event effects.
Ms. Dominik graduated from the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota, where she earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. In 2007, she received her Program Management Professional (PMP) certification. Ms. Dominik also maintains an affiliation with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
